Are you an engineer? Have you ever used a UNIX system? What about a Windows systems? Well, now you can have the best of both world with a Mac. Thanks to Mac OS X, Apple's cutting-edge operating system built upon BSD, you can now use Microsoft Office side-by-side with a bash shell.

Come learn more about Apple's Mac OS X operating system, Apple's product line of laptop and desktop machines, observe demonstrations of key engineering application on Mac OS X, and hear from current faculty at CWRU's Engineering school who use Mac OS X.

SatCo Course on Mac OS X

Date: Saturday, 3/20/04
Time: 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm
Location: Haydn 11 (unless otherwise indicated)

Geared towards to Mac OS X newbie, this course will cover introductory Mac
OS X usage, using Apple's iApps, and end with some advanced topics.

Students participating in "Using Mac OS X" will:

  • Understand the various foundations that makeup Mac OS X
  • Develop basic Mac OS X usage skills that will ease the transition for
    Windows user or Mac OS 8/9 user;
  • Learn how to use Apple's numerous iApps (iCal, iSync, iTunes, iChat,
    iPhoto iMovie, iDVD)
  • Gain a glimpse as some of the more advanced applications of Mac OS X (UNIX terminal, Developer tools, Internet services, etc...)

The course is fully interactive and will utilize one of the advanced
Macintosh labs on the Case campus.

Apple Cocoa Programming Contest Awards Ceremony

Come see the entries for the 1st annual Apple Cocoa Programming Contest. Each programming team will have a chance to demonstrate their program before the judges make a decision for 1st through 5th place. It's an event you won't want to miss.
