Apple Tech Update: MacWorld San Francisco 2005

iLife '05 Integration

SIGMAC officers Dhruv Kalra and Samer Karim will demonstrate Apple's iLife software suite, including iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD and GarageBand, with a special emphasis on how each of these programs work together to increase your productivity.

Mac OS X and Engineering & Science

Are you an engineer or scientist?  Do you need to use several operating systems to get your work done?  Thanks to Mac OS X, Apple's cutting-edge operating system built upon BSD, you can now use Microsoft Office side-by-side with a UNIX command line.

Come learn more about Apple's Mac OS X operating system, Apple's product line of laptop and desktop machines, observe demonstrations of key engineering application on Mac OS X, and hear from current Case faculty who use Mac OS X for their work.

Apple's iApps

SIGMAC officers Bradley Farnsworth and Samer Karim will demonstrate Apple’s iApps: the iWork suite and iLife '05.  iWork is comprised of Keynote 2.0, an alternative to PowerPoint and Pages, a word processor / desktop publishing application. The iLife programs are iMovie HD, iPhoto 5, iDVD 5, GarageBand 2 and iTunes. We'll show how these programs can work together to increase your productivity.

Apple Tech Update

We will discuss and/or demonstrate any new software or hardware Apple has released since the last Apple Tech Update (including Mac OS X Tiger if it is available).

Cocoa Programming Contest Award Ceremony

Come see the entries for the 2nd annual Apple Cocoa Programming Contest. Each programming team will have a chance to demonstrate their program before the judges reveal who wins the grand prize.

Note: The Case Microsoft Campus Rep., Robert Klayman, will be giving a talk on his popular scheduling software, Scheduler Jones before the SIGMAC meeting, from 6:00 to 7:00. Feel free to come early and stay for SIGMAC!
